Music Chapel Soloists
Music Chapel Festival: Vienna Classics
The Langsamer Satz by Webern, one of the founders of the Second Viennese School, was written in 1905 and is inspired by a mountain walk near Vienna. This early work shows how Webern's music is completely embedded in post-Brahmsian romanticism. The Quintet by Schubert is characterised by the presence of a second cello, taking the listener on an inner, almost meditative, journey.
