«Switzerland no longer exists» - the slogan on the poster of Heimatland is radical. A film created by 10 Swiss directors, pending on a disaster-movie background: the imminent threat of a violent hurricane on the country. Emergency state, panic in the population, Heimatland works as a choral work carried by a multitude of characters and parallel stories. A metaphor that seeks to undermine the image of Switzerland withdrawn into itself and raises the question: «What would happen if the Swiss themselves became refugees in their own country»?
