Strike a Pose

Premiere | Brussels Film Festival

Between 1990 and 1992, seven young gay dancers toured with Madonna around the world. The impact in the media was huge, which she used to defend homosexual rights. At the time a documentary was made to tell this musical and humane adventure, and to explore the intimacy of these dancers who became LGBT icons worldwide. Twenty-five years later, the film directors started looking for the six survivors. They recalled their memories, the difficulties to rebuild their lives after the tour and how some of them had sued Madonna for abusive exploitation of their image. Presented at the last Berlinale and Tribeca Film Festival, Strike a Pose touches by its words and sensitivity by addressing topics such as gay rights, AIDS, friendship and the fall after being a star.
