Mustang

Summer is coming. But the beaches, parties and holidays are not part of Lale’s plans with her four sisters. They live in a remote village in Turkey. Coming home from school, they play with a group of boys and trigger a scandal with unexpected consequences. The family home is transformed into a prison, household tasks replace school and marriages are starting to be arranged. Five sisters, animated by the same desire for freedom, defy the limits imposed upon them. Despite the difficult theme, Deniz Gamze Ergüven made a film of great freshness and vivacity with an enchanting tone. The film was awarded the Prix LUX in 2015 with whom we are collaborating to organise a special screening for the blind and visually impaired.
