Les Femmes
The Flemish Radio Choir brings the secret - but oh, so beautiful - world of the ancient monasteries to the concert hall and offers a reconstruction of a high Mass as it would have been celebrated in the French royal abbeys of the 18th century. At the centre is the 17th-century Messe pour le Port Royal by Marc-Antoine Charpentier, composed for an important female religious community in Paris, where Charpentier’s sister Marie was a nun.
