The law of 31/01/2003 launched the systematic reduction of the use of nuclear energy to generate electricity in Belgium in industrial fashion. The law was modified in 2013 and again in 2015 in order to prolonged the working of Tihange 1, Doel 1 and Doel 2 by 10 years. The operating permits of the nuclear reactors expire in 2025.
