Many are familiar with Beethoven’s Egmont overture; the same, however, cannot be said about Goethe’s play of the same name, for which Beethoven wrote a set of entr’actes and lieder. The Concert Olympique offers Beethoven’s Egmont Suite interspersed with an original text by the Belgian author, Erwin Mortier. The contemporary take makes for a fascinating concert, during which you will also hear the famous Emperor Concerto.
