JULIA GOES MERCUTIO
Julia goes Mercutio’s repertoire is based on Romeo and Juliet, Opus 75 by Sergei Prokofiev and delivered through an arrangement especially designed by the musicians. Portions of the famous suite are interwoven with compositions by Françoise Tonteling, as well as free improvisations.
The story of Romeo and Juliet serves as the guiding light through this musical world. It is not without a touch of humor that the musicians follow the character of Mercutio as the beautiful Julia slowly adopts his traits, becoming moody and unpredictable while preserving her purity and loyalty.
Julie goes Mercutio achieves a challenging feat: the creation of an original and poetical musical world by cultivating a unique and previously non-existent combination of instruments and repertoire.
