Masterclass: Visual Storytelling
Festival Anima
Writer-director Jericca Cleland developed her skills at Pixar, collaborating with John Lasseter or Andrew Stanton to design the filming and staging of Finding Nemo and Toy Story 2, as well as working on Arthur Christmas (Sony/Aardman), Ballerina and Ratchet and Clank (based on the video game). She also gives presentations and lectures in studios and schools around the world.
In this masterclass, she will explain how images have the power to build story, context and emotions, present practical techniques for structuring visuals to support cinematic narrative and use clips to break a sequence down step by step. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in two Q/A sessions during the class.
