We're not much into calculations but we couldn't resist a little rule of three to come to this conclusion: over 8% of the 1,608 films received for Anima 2017 are Belgian! Small but bold, that's our animation! We've chosen 43 professional or student films for adults or children, with 25 of them up for votes from the jury. The others are just to give your eyes a treat!

The cinema Owl presents five adventures focusing on freedom, like 8-year-old Eliette’s, who lives in a country where music is forbidden and whose instrument maker parents have been imprisoned, or the little king’s, who wants nothing else but to bring back to his little kingdom a magnificent snow white unicorn, as swift as the wind that he has spied in the forest.
