Orlando Julius & the Heliocentrics
At the start of the new season we welcome one of the pioneers of Afrobeat and Afrofunk. We are talking of course about saxophonist Orlando Julius, living music legend of Nigeria. This great innovator infused Nigerian highlife with styles such as funk, soul and jazz. Nowadays, he surrounds himself on stage with a London based collective, The Heliocentrics. Not to be missed!
