À la française Festival

Debussy’s and Ravel’s violin sonatas guarantee the success of any repertoire. Much less known, however, is Francis Poulenc’s violin sonata from the 1940s, yet its mischievous grace and slightly odd meanderings are charming. As for Ysaÿe, it would seem he was also occasionally in the mood for a waltz.
