David Le Breton

Passion of Absence

Since 2017, Flagey organizes regular encounters with inspired thinkers throughout the season. For this lecture, we invite the French sociologist David Le Breton, author of Du silence (1997), Marcher. Éloge des chemins et de la lenteur (2012), and Disparaître de soi. Une tentation contemporaine (2015). He tells us more about the 'passion of absence', that nowadays incites a lot of people to remove themselves from society and others.
