Opening Concert

Due to health issues, Edgar Moreau has unfortunately cancelled his participation in the opening concert of Festival Musiq’3. Peteris Vasks’ cello concerto is replaced by Serge Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1 in D major, Op.25, “Classical Symphony”. The rest of the evening remains the same.

A breathtaking opening concert! The Festival Orchestra has surpassed itself this year by inviting Edgar Moreau for a Vasks concerto that will leave you trembling. He will also accompany the essential Finnish accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen in an original performance blending jazz, rock and classical music! A genuine Festival Musiq’3 concert where Grieg will immerse you in a Nordic atmosphere from the very start!
