Canto Fiorito

Along with Claudio Monteverdi, Tarquino Merula was one of the most innovative Italian composers of the seventeenth century. For several years he held the highest positions in the Lithuanian-Polish music scene. So it makes perfect sense that the ensemble Canto Fiorito, based in Vilnius, offers us a programme consisting of this Venetian composer’s arias and madrigals.
