Dutra and Rojas, who are by no means new to the scene, play brilliantly with stylisation and metaphor, while claiming a debt to Jacques Tourneur’s low-budget horror films. Winner of prizes at Gérardmer and Locarno, this is the story of two lonely women, who form an unusual, passionate and fantastical relationship, while one of them is expecting a child who will be no less unique.
