Augustin Dumay’s Brahms #4

avec Augustin Dumay, Lorenzo Gatto, Lukas Vondracek, Miguel da Silva, Henri Demarquette & Louis Lortie

In 1853, Robert Schumann described the chamber music of Brahms as “symphonies in disguise”. There is no better way to describe the grand and boisterous Piano Quintet in which the piano, Brahms’ favourite instrument, has the central role. During this final concert of the Brahms Weekend, Augustin Dumay and his musical partners also interpret Brahms’ Ballads for piano solo and the last Violin Sonata No. 3, showing us the full scope of Brahms’ inexhaustible expressive talents.
