Georges Brassens and Christian Escoudé have plenty in common – both guitarists, both Django Reinhardt fans and both die-hard jazz lovers. Escoudé, the Gypsy jazz musician, has completely rearranged his 12 favourite pieces of poet Brassens’ work. The result respects the original melodies whilst adding a jazzy touch. The critics are in total agreement and have rained down praise on this production. Over his long history, Christian Escoudé has been in the studio or graced the stage with Stan Getz, Bill Evans, Didier Lockwood, Michel Portal and Martial Solal.
