15th century Japan. Kyoto is ravaged by disasters and famine. Abandoned by everyone, Asura is growing up alone and survives by eating human flesh. Rejected by his peers, he lives and behaves like an animal, until the day he meets a young girl who awakens his human side. This hard and moving film questions human limits and issues concerning life and death.
