On 9 August 1999, the day of the solar eclipse, Hermann and Clarissa are in Munich for their joint tour with the “Günderrode Song”. When Hermann learns of the death of Rudi, the innkeeper from Shabbach, he leaves for the Hunsrück. The whole village turns out to pay a last tribute to the innkeeper.
