Non ma fille tu n'iras pas danser (Christophe Honoré)

Non ma fille tu n'iras pas danser

Christophe Honoré

Lena has taken her two children and left her husband to be reunited with her family in her native Brittany, who welcome her warmly. Perhaps a little too warmly. Lena struggles with their well-meaning meddling in her future happiness. This stark exploration of the smothering tentacles of family love is masterfully carried off by a splendid cast, with a Breton folk tale curiously inserted midway through the film.
