Zinos is the Greek-German proprietor of a run-down eatery in Hamburg (the titular Soul Kitchen) burdened by an ex-con brother and a dodgy back. Better known for far grittier fare (like the recent, very dark The Golden Glove), Fatih Akin made a detour in 2009 with this boisterous, slapstick comedy, which earned him the Special Jury Prize in Venice.
