Hearing Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson live will make you hold your breath again and again. This artist-in-residence has conquered the music world in recent years with three successful albums on the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label. The albums bear witness to his expressive power of expression and idiosyncratic choices. Equally special and original is his latest album, in which he allows piano works by Mozart to dialogue with music by his contemporaries who made a deep impression on him, such as Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Domenico Cimarosa and Joseph Haydn.
Xavier Flament (L'Echo)
