Kumiko, known as Josée, after a heroine in a Sagan novel, has been a paraplegic from a young age and lives with her grandmother, who overprotects her from the outside world. One evening, Tsuneo, a brilliant marine biology student, saves Josée from a terrible fall. Following this, her grandmother hires Tsuneo to be the girl’s caregiver.
