Family concert: Brussels Philharmonic

Bem-vindo ao Brasil! Welcome to Brazil! Antonio Mendéz takes the Brussels Philharmonic, Flagey's orchestra in residence, on a trip to the warmer regions of Brazil, Mexico and Venezuala.

While the Belgian sun does its best to warm up the end of September, inside the Flagey building the temperatures will beat the record. Adults and children alike will get a taste of the delights of Brazil, and attend workshops and activities organized by the Terra Brasil association, all to the tune of a musical melting-pot which will unfailingly be accompanied by the swaying of the hips! Besides the music of the renowned Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, which must of course be on the programme,  the event will be flavoured with an extra whiff of exoticism from Venezuela and Mexico. The entire scale of southern emotions, in other words: from extreme exuberance to poignant melancholy. At the end, saudade will doubtless fill the heart when thinking back on this fiery musical September afternoon.
