Bl!ndman [sax]

Bl!ndman’s saxes, strings and percussion have astonished KlaraFestival’s public on more than one occasion. For their 25th anniversary, they will be weaving together a follow-up to the successful formula with which they have been thrilling both friend and foe for many years: Bach on sax. In addition to reworking melancholic choral pieces from cantatas like Ach wie nichtig, ach wie flüchtig, the programme will also feature several monumental organ works. The diverse organ voices are split so that they are clearer than ever before. By partnering with tubax and electronics, even the lowest tones are brought to life. Bl!ndman’s sultry ensemble playing takes on the sound of a masterly church organ on the human level. They open their anniversary concert with an ode to John Dowland whose song Go Crystal Teares doubles as the title for KlaraFestival 2013.
