El agua

It is summer in a small village in south-eastern Spain. A storm threatens to once again burst the banks of the river that runs through it. An ancient custom has it that some women are destined to disappear with each new flood, because they have the “water in them”. A group of youths attempt to ride out the tedium of summer, smoking, dancing and fanning the flames of desire. Ana and José find romance in this electric atmosphere, before the storm breaks.
