Thelma (Joachim Trier)

Joachim Trier

Following the release of Sentimental Value, Cineflagey is offering you the opportunity to (re)discover all of Joachim Trier's previous feature films. There is his so-called Oslo trilogy (RepriseOslo, August 31st and The Worst Person in the World), in which you can not only get to see the transformation of a modernising Oslo throughout the 15 years of making the trilogy, but also get to know Trier's favourite actor Anders Danielsen Lie. From The Worst Person in the World onwards, actress Renate Reinsve came to the fore, the rising European star of the moment. Reinsve made her film debut in Oslo, August 31st with a supporting role.

In addition, there is his only English-language film to date, Louder Than Bombs, with an impressive international cast, and Thelma, a genre departure with elements reminiscent of De Palma's film adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie. Trier wrote all these films together with his regular partner in crime Eskil Vogt, who has also directed two more than promising films of his own, Blind and The Innocents
