Arvo Pärt Weekend

Baltic Sea Festival

Every two years, Flagey organizes a Baltic Sea Festival, a festival that puts the spotlight on one of the Baltic States and its culture. For this year’s edition, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia and its most famous composer, Arvo Pärt. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, Flagey dedicates a whole weekend to its most famous composer, Arvo Pärt. We honour his quest for meaning, spirituality and timelessness through a series of concerts, premières of new works, meditation sessions, lecture-recitals, an exhibition, a digital choir project SMing, films and lectures. We welcome the renowned Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Flemish Radio Choir and the French sociologist David Le Breton, as well as Belgian stars such as composer Jean-Paul Dessy, Revue Blanche and Annelien Van Wauwe.
