Studio 5 - Agnès Varda

On March 29, Agnès Varda passed away at the age of 90. Photographer, filmmaker and visual artist, she left her mark on the world of the arts, cinema in particular, so much so that she was the first female director to receive an Honorary Oscar for her entire career in 2017.

Accolades for her work include an Honorary César in 2001, the René Clair Award of the French Academy in 2002, an Honorary Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, an Honorary Oscar in 2017 and the Berlinale Camera in 2019. To pay tribute to this great lady, Flagey is renaming Studio 5. After this evening it will be called “Studio 5 – Agnès Varda". The evening will begin with the official opening of the studio in the presence of her daughter Rosalie Varda, the Mayor of Ixelles Christos Doulkeridis, the Alderman of Culture of Ixelles Kélountang Ndiaye and General Manager of Flagey, Gilles Ledure. The evening will end with the screening of her autobiographical film Les Plages d'Agnès.
