Flagey chez soi: Elina Duni

Flagey chez soi: Elina Duni

From their home to yours. With ‘Flagey chez soi’ we want to continue to share the joy of music on our feeds during this uncertain time. We asked some musicians who are very close to us, to tell you how they are coping with this crisis and to record a piece of music for you. We look forward to welcoming you back to Flagey when we reopen. Until then, enjoy the music and take care!

Next at ‘Flagey chez soi’: singer Elina Duni who with her deep, warm voice, interprets ‘Ces petits riens’ by Serge Gainsbourg! Oh and remember this for your agenda: Duni will be back at Flagey on the 10th of October 2020

In October 1964, the 36-year-old Serge Gainsbourg secludes himself in a Parisian studio to record his sixth album 'Percussions'. At that time he was very impressed by the famous Nigerian percussionist Olatunji. For his song 'Ces petits riens' he also delved into music history. The title of the song is inspired by the ballet music Wolfgang Amadeus wrote in 1778 for the pantomime 'Les petits riens' about the silly adventures of Cupid who tries to impress several women at the same time. Gainsbourg's message is clear: it is better not to want everything. It's the 'petits riens' that count!

Expect more beautiful performances by Julien Libeer, Casimir Liberski, Antoine Pierre, Sylvia Huang and Nelson Goerner in the coming days.
