Bel Jazz Fest 2020

The online jazz festival 'Bel Jazz Fest' from Flagey to your home

Tickets sale for the Bel Jazz Fest on jazz.be

Flagey (organiser of the annual Brussels Jazz Festival), organises the online jazz festival Bel Jazz Fest in collaboration with ten other big Belgian festivals on May 29 and 30 . The 24 concerts of Belgian bands will be streamed from the studios of Flagey, renowned for their legendary acoustics to the people at home. The current crisis hits our jazz musicians really hard. With a ticket for Bel Jazz Fest or a donation, you support Belgian musicians, technicians, suppliers and organizers.

Concerts in Flagey, streaming on jazz.be

All concerts will be recorded at Flagey and broadcast on jazz.be for people to watch and listen at home. For only 15 euros you receive access to the full line-up: a carefully assembled group of artists that represent the best Belgian jazz has to offer nowadays. North and South, young talents and well-respected stalwarts, men and women, both familiar and experimental sounds. All connected by the language of musical improvisation.

"Our team takes all the necessary precautions to allow the artists and the team to work in optimal safety conditions. Flagey returns to its roots with Bel Jazz Fest: our studios were initially built to make recordings with perfect acoustics. Back then, it was for the radio, it is now the perfect setting for this online festival", says Gilles Ledure, General Manager of Flagey.

Belgian jazz is alive!

Les festivals de jazz BRAND! Mechelen, Brosella, Brussels Jazz Festival, Brussels Jazz Weekend, Mithra Jazz à Liège, Gaume Jazz Festival, Gent Jazz, Jazz Brugge, Jazz Middelheim, Leuven Jazz and Tournai Jazz Festival with the support of Stilletto PRoductions, JazzLab and VI.BE send out a strong message: Belgian jazz is alive and needs your support. We are all waiting for the time when we'll be able to enjoy again the "real" live experiences, but here is an opportunity to support the musicians as well as the technicians, suppliers and organisers in the meantime.

Diversity and quality streaming

Bel Jazz Fest offers an abundant, variegated program: De Beren Gieren, An Pierlé Quartet,  Nordmann, Jean-Paul Estiévenart Quartet, Bram De Looze, Compro Oro, DJ AliA, Tuur Florizoone, Esinam, schntzl, Antoine Pierre Urbex Electric, The Brums, Mâäk Quintet, Manuel Hermia Trio, Anneleen Boehme, Eve Beuvens, Casimir Liberski Trio, Lubiana, Commander Spoon, Kurt Van Herck Trio, Glass Museum, Karen Willems, Nabou and Bert Cools.

The concerts start at 18:30h (Friday 29th) and 18:00h (Saturday 30th) . From six different locations in the Flagey building (hygiene measures!), all with impeccable acoustics, the concerts - occasionally overlapping - will be streamed in high audio and image quality to the people at home. Visitors can switch from one stage to another and chat with other viewers. Ticket-holders will not miss anything, as the content (all performances!) will be available for one week after the festival.

The future of this platform

The organisers intend to keep this platform active after the festival, in order to promote our rich jazz scene nationally and internationally.
