In her new album, Plamena Mangova explores the complex relationship between Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms and their muse, Clara. Lettres Intimes refers to the Germanic musical notation in letters that allowed the exchange of confidential messages within the scores. The Bulgarian pianist (second laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2007) gives a moving deciphering of the mutual influences of this leading trio of the great Romantic era.
