At just 29, Chinese pianist Jiaxin Min, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2025, made an unforgettable impression at the competition. From the very first round, she stood out with her dazzling technique and effortless virtuosity. In the semi-finals, she took bold interpretative risks with a deeply expressive performance of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 28 in A major. In the finals, Kris Defoort’s compulsory piece seemed written for her, and her explosive take on Prokofiev’s Third Piano Concerto lit up the stage with passion and flair. Her magnetic presence and artistry won over the audience completely.
