Stéphane Galland Kanda

Jazz drummer and sound explorer Stéphane Galland, known from AKA Moon, presents his brand-new project Kanda. Together with Lúcia Pires (Steps, Edoardo Cimino, Tomorrow’s Warriors) on flute and EWI, and Louise van den Heuvel (Sonic Hug, Dishwasher_) on bass and effects, Galland embraces complexity in search of new rhythmic sensations. Just as the name Kanda carries many meanings, the ensemble also takes on multiple forms, smoothly navigating between a purely acoustic trio and electronic formation. With an impeccable sense of groove, Galland takes you on a rhythmic journey full of energy and surprising twists – powerful and fragile at the same time.
