MLCDWW1418 My Little Cheap Dictaphone , the band from Liège everybody is talking about, will adapt its music on images from the collection of Cinematek. The band has chosen from archived material that was shot during the First World War. Video artist Caroline Poisson will transform these breathtaking images into a very personal form.
The Flying Horseman Flying Horseman , the band from Antwerp led by the amazing guitarist en talented singer- songwriter Bert Dockx, is definitely one of the most intriguing and seducing bands of the moment. Musically, they are situated somewhere between the dark princes Mark Lanegan and Nick Cave, with outbursts of lyricism close to Jeff Buckley. Philippe Werkers, the visual artist working on the live projections of Dans Dans – one of Dockx’s other projects – will delve into Cinematheque’s collection...
Follakzoid (CL) The Chileans Follakzoid litterally breathe a cinematic landscape: with krautrock and psychedelics as their main influences, added with a wall of sound of guitars, the band effortlessly takes us nearer to the cosmos. Bringing their own visuals, the band will transport us to a post-apocalyptic western. Follakzoid is the official Chilean purveyor of cosmic psychedelic rock. Signed on the great Sacred Bones label from Brooklyn, they have performed with the likes of Tame Impala, Warlocks, Dead Meadow en Psychic Illsand have played festivals such as Lollapalooza, SXSW en Austin Psych fest.
After Tindersticks, Chromatics, Chrysta Bell, Roscoe and Mélanie De Biasio during the previous editions, the Brussels Film Festival has once again set up 2 unique creations of film- concerts.
