Flagey Eco Days

tea N vibes Room– Studio 2 (10:00 - 19:00)
A journey along vibrations, a timeless space, a bubble of wellbeing, a moment for you, a discovery, a chance to share … and much more besides.

Via sound massage and singing bowls
Sound massage is a discipline which uses sounds, vibrations and frequencies for therapy and to create harmony. The sound of the singing (or Tibetan) bowls resonates through the body and induces changes at a molecular and sub-molecular level, via our cells which are 70%-80% water. The sound vibrations can be felt in the bone structure, tendons, nerves and organs.
The bowls are struck gently using a felt mallet which makes them resonate and ring at different frequencies. These vibrations pass through the body and reach all cells, circulating the energy to all corners and extremities. This stimulates deep relaxation and a true physical and mental sensation of letting go.

Via tea tasting
“To the man who truly desires it, with deep sympathy, teach him all of the secrets of tea” Sen no Rikyû (1522-1591).
“I propose to share with you, with passion and simplicity, some of the numerous secrets of tea. I will prepare for you three different infusions from one form of tea, which will allow you to discover the hidden marvels” –Sylvie.
Registration required – maximum 10 participants. Lasts 45 min.

Via Balinese massage
Inspired by mainly Ayurvedic, but also Indian and Chinese techniques, this ancestral therapeutic massage from the island of Bali stimulates different energy points as well as the elements that we are composed of (water, earth, fire). Rest and relaxation for the body and soul stand out from among the many benefits of this type of massage.

Sound Showers – Studio 3 (10:00 - 19:00)
On Saturday 20th, throughout the whole day, visitors will be able to soak up the aural imprints left by water and nature, through creations which will be played in studio 3.
As a prelude to the opening film, WATERMARK, a piece created especially for the festival by Anne Lepere will be played in studio 4 on Friday 19th, and repeated in studio 3 on Saturday 20th.

Sheltered as it is from the elements, Studio 3 welcomes a series of audio creations. Each one, in its own manner, either examines natural spaces and the way in which humans appropriate them, or, conversely, watches and documents nature left to its own devices, unspoilt and delicate.

Programme:
14:30 - HO (14’) - Thomas Turine
HO that’s where I have spent a few weeks walking and walking across Iceland. The Earth jerks out its matter and its matter is made of water, its matter is made of air, fire and earth. The (tectonic) plates are growing and we come across many small geysers, gas and smoke billowing up from the bowels of the earth. HO is an animal documentary investigating the disappearance of the Icelandic dinosaurs, as well as a docu-fiction about a volcanic expedition - the story of the universe and the creation of matter according to quantum theory.

14:45 - Glacier (5’) - Anthony Carcone
It is now generally accepted that the glaciers will melt. The question is how quickly? The speed depends overwhelmingly on the level of global warming, so therefore on human activity. Advocating inactivity to save ourselves.

15:00 - Little sounds along the river (7’) + Taste of Water (5’) - Anne Lepère
Little sounds along the river opens up on a walk along a river where the tension between the everyday-life inertia and the desires for the future interwine: an ode to movement, travels and the transhumance emerges; an exploration of what pushes us elsewhere, that makes us alive, pulses stir, certainties crumble.

15:15 - La vie en bleu (12’) - Anna Raimondo
In between Marseille and Naples, and navigating through the Mediterranean . One is the city in which I was born; the other is the one that has adopted me.
“La vie en bleu” is an intimate immersion into two realities where the main element is still the sea. The sea that cleanses, that purifies, that represents a form of catharsis because you can immerse yourself and forget what’s left outside. In both cities, the sea filtrates reality, and this is also what water does in this radio piece. The intimate perspective becomes an aquatic trip.
Field recordings and hydrophonic recordings in a soundscape composition in which blue is the dominant color. Blue as the sea, blue as the colors of both Naples and Marseille’s football teams…
Best soundscape prize – SONIC Art Awards 2014 at PIARS

15:30 - Birdless (20’) - Irvic D’Olivier
Nestled between North and South America, Costa Rica is home to some 900 species of bird. Armed with an omnidirectional microphone and an antenna, Irvic D’Olivier spent hour after hour in national parks waiting for rare birds. Among others, here we have the Roadside hawk (rupornis magnirostris), the Montezuma oropendola (psarpcolius Montezuma), the Red-winged blackbird (agelaius phoeniceus), and one of the world’s noisiest animals, the Black howler monkey (alouatta caraya).

16:00 - Derrière chez moi (50’) - Carine Demange
2010 – Docu-fiction
Carine Demange returns to her birthplace, Kanaky in New Caledonia, to undertake a mysterious quest. Where is the cagou she remembers from her childhood? A strange call guides her on her voyage to the heart of this wondrous island. Driven by the worries of the inhabitants, she sets off to try and discover a forbidden wood on the other side of the mountain. It is there, on the coveted red earth, that the future of an entire people is being played out.
The director will be present for a discussion following the listening.

18:00 - Monteisola Live (30’) - Myriam Pruvot
Performance Live
MONTEISOLA is a project which was set up by the self-taught vocalist and musician Myriam Pruvot. Her first work, “Niebla”, a mixture of field recordings and improvised song writing, came out in 2013 on the French label Wild Silence. After a number of collaborations with a diverse group of Brussels musicians, MONTEISOLA is now imagined and produced in collaboration with the violinist Sarah Foulquier. Together they explore the outer reaches of an area of shared inquisitiveness (strange music and popular melodies, refrains and noises).
Balanced between folk and tangible music, MONTEISOLA questions distance and time, as well as all of our misguided choices and hesitations
