UNRIC : Drop by Drop & Food
Flagey Eco Days / Exhibition
To raise awareness on global issues that touch humanity reaching out as many people on the planet as possible and to surmount the challenge of multilingual communications, the United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) reached out to the European creative community and asked them to help us convey the UN’s messages more through images than words. The images exhibited here were part of two annual European public information campaigns aiming to inform and engage the European public through a newspaper ad competition.
In 2012, in a campaign called: Drop by Drop, we called on Europeans to create a newspaper ad to inspire everyone to preserve water, now and for future generations.
In 2013, we focused on food waste because consumers, the food industry and governments all have a role to play in reducing 1.3 billion tons of food wasted or lost each year.
While one billion people still go to bed hungry, we in the West waste 30 percent of our food.
