Monk-marathon: Celebrating Thelonious Monk's 100th birthday
On October 10, we celebrate the centenary of Thelonious Monk with a complete Monk-marathon. Seven hours long, jazz expert Marc Van den Hoof will play in the lobby on our sound system all of Monk's compositions and will tell us all there is to know about this legendary musician. We open our doors for this anniversary at 12 p.m.. Join us in the bar for a drink and a snack, with in the background the beautiful music by Monk.
You are welcome to picnic in Flagey between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. and we offer you a free bowl of soup. From 5 p.m., it’s time for the ‘after work’ during which you can impress your colleagues with your Monk-knowledge at the bar.
