Asmâa Hamzaoui is one of the youngest representatives of Gnawa music, a genre rooted in Sub-Sahara African slaves in Morocco. With her band Bnat Timbouktou, she offers a mix of poetry, music and dance. The hypnotising and mystical Gnawa music is believed to have a therapeutic effect.
