Anna Egholm

An evening with Mendelssohn

Mendelssohn's Concerto for Two Pianos is an early work in which he incorporates influences from his famous predecessors such as Bach. The music resounds youthful, fresh, vital and abundant. This precocious genius was 15 years old when he wrote the music. His Violin Concerto is his last work for soloist and orchestra. The road he has travelled in the meantime is impressive, going from classicism to romanticism, without losing any of its charm or liveliness.
