The worlds of the living and the dead meet in this new concert by Vox Luminis in collaboration with the French baroque ensemble L'Achéron. Conducted by Lionel Meunier, they perform works by baroque composers Heinrich Schütz and Giovanni Legrenzi in which death and the hereafter are central themes: Legrenzi offers us a powerful and impressive rendition of the Day of Judgement, while Schütz gives a haunting account of Jesus’ crucifixion.
