Une Femme douce (Bresson)

Four adaptations of Fyodor Dostoyevsky

The literary oeuvre by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is known for its crime and punishment, its deception and pain and begs to be made into a film. This Russian writer inspired numerous directors such as Sergei Loznitsa (A Gentle Creature), but also, in former times, Andrzej Wajda (Les Possédés), Jacques Doillon (La Vengeance d'une femme) and Robert Bresson (Une Femme douce): each in their own way bring back to life Dostoyevsky's doomed characters.
