Groppe - Martin - Van Rechem

Writing music from improvisations, improvising from written music, this is what Simon Groppe, pianist, and Pierre Martin, drummer, have been trying to achieve as a duo since December 2017. These two musicians have a wide variety of influences like Steve Reich, Tigran Hamasyan, Jim Black and John Zorn and play a music between free improvisation and written stuff. The complicity of the two musicians leads them towards a goal: to offer emotions to their audience, to touch the listeners.

Groppe & Martin were selected in several jazz contests, such as Dinant Jazz, Jazz à Vannes and at the Mechelen Jazz Contest, were the drummer won the soloist price.

Groppe & Martin invite Hugo Van Rechem to play the violin for the occasion.
