2021 marks the 200th birthday of French writer Gustave Flaubert. Reason enough for pianist David Kadouch to devote a special programme and album to this great writer. His recital is inspired by the daily ups-and-downs of the main character in the 1856 novel Madame Bovary. Emma Bovary's dreams and disappointments about love “which should come like a hurricane from heaven” are passionately expressed in this recital through famous piano works by Frédéric Chopin and Franz Liszt, as well as lesser-known musical gems by female composers Fanny Mendelssohn and Clara Schumann.
