The English composer is one of the most played and most celebrated contemporary composers. Artists and ensembles like the English National Opera, Simon Rattle, Vladimir Jurowski, Andris Nelsons and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra have already had the British composer’s work on their music stands.
The Piatti Quartet and the Aris Quartett will join then forces for the famous Octet, Op. 20 by Felix Mendelssohn. The composer was only 16 when he set down the famous work. But you wouldn’t know it from listening to it. The unique octet is filled to the rim with rich hues and dynamic contrasts. It is a veritable symphony in pocket format!
