Artemis Quartett / Nikolaj Lund

String Quartet Marathon

during Klarafestival at Flagey

Spread out over two days, you will be treated to some of the most gripping music for string quartet.

The world-renowned Artemis Quartet performs three equally famous string quartets by Schubert, Barber and Britten. Afterwards, the Dutch Ragazze Quartet plays the iconic Black Angels by Crumb in an uninterrupted tension curve in addition to Britten’s String Quartet No. 1, two intense works that find their counterparts in the imagery provided by video collective 33 1/3 which is as fascinating as it is poetic.

Energy, imagination and intelligence in Schumann and Ravel. The Vision String Quartet lives up to its name. The Piatti Quartet continues with the same zest with the world première of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s string quartet Winter’s Edge and subsequently joins forces with the Aris Quartett for Mendelssohn’s famous Octet.
