On the occasion of the Beethoven Year 2027, Boris Giltburg, winner of the 2013 Queen Elisabeth Competition, presents the complete cycle of Beethoven’s piano sonatas. The program of the first concert in this series features three sonatas that together illustrate Beethoven’s radical renewal of the genre: from the energetic Sonata No. 1 and the brilliant “Hunt” sonata to the monumental “Hammerklavier”.
